Dear Members,

Thank you for navigating the past few weeks with us. Our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we're truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.

With the latest updates from the states of Indiana and Michigan, we have made the decision that all branches will remain closed through the month of April. During this time frame, all Y programs, workshops, events, and classes have been suspended. Our opening date is subject to change as the COVID-19 impact continues to develop.

At the YMCA of Greater Michiana, you’re not only a member of a health and wellness facility, you’re a member of a cause-driven organization dedicated to strengthening community. Everything we do is guided by our mission and commitment to serve and support our community. Today is no different. As our Y responds to the needs of our community during this health crisis, we ask that you stay with us and retain your membership.
Your membership is our primary source of revenue and helps support our efforts to meet the critical needs of our community during this pandemic. Currently, we are providing critical care for children of healthcare workers, virtual fitness classes, support to the Benton Heights and Covert Healthy Y Corner Stores, virtual interaction with our preschoolers, and engaging with our senior members.
Staying with us ensures our Y remains strong during this difficult time and is positioned to reopen and continue to serve the community with impactful programming like LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA for cancer survivors, Enhance® Fitness and water aerobics for seniors, summer day camps for youth, outreach swim safety for so many, and so much more!
To #StayWithUs, you don’t need to take any action. Your membership will remain active and ready for you to rejoin us when we are able to open. Please note your membership during this time can be converted to a tax-deductible donation. If you would like to receive a tax receipt, simply email
While we wish you could #StayWithUs, we understand that the impact of COVID-19 may not allow you to do so. This isn’t business as usual, and it’s a time of great stress and uncertainty. If you have questions about your membership or would like to place it on hold for the duration of our closure, please email

We appreciate that you have stood by us during these times and continued to support the Y. We can't wait to have you all back at the Y with us!
