The YMCA of Greater Michiana will host YMCA Day of Giving on Monday, March 2. The Day of Giving is a one-day event geared toward promoting an opportunity to give to your local Y in the greater Michiana area including the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph YMCA, Niles-Buchanan YMCA, and South Bend-Mishawaka YMCA.

The one-day effort shows support for the Y’s annual and capital campaigns. Donations can be made toward supporting annual Y programs such as camps, safety around water, youth sports, and after school programs or toward supporting capital initiatives, such as expansions and improvements. Those who wish to participate may visit their local Y to donate in-person or may donate online at ymcagm.org/donate.

“The Day of Giving is a terrific way to rally behind the important work being done daily at the Y,” said Bill Healy, director of development, YMCA of Greater Michiana. “These donations will help us ensure we meet critical community needs through our core focus areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.”

The YMCA of Greater Michiana served over 20,000 members in 2019 and provided over $140,000 in scholarships for memberships. In addition, all three branches are currently working toward raising funds to support capital projects.
