The Niles-Buchanan branch of the YMCA of Southwest Michigan will host an Overdose Prevention Training on Wednesday, June 26 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This training, in collaboration with Voice Change Hope and COPE Network, is free and open to the community.

This free class will provide participants with information on the current opioid crisis, an understanding of what addition is, information about the Adverse Childhood Experience study and the connection with Substance Use Disorder, ability to recognize an opioid/heroin overdose, and a lesson on how to respond using Naloxone, also known as Narcan. Participants 18 and older will receive a free Naloxone Overdose Prevention Kit.

This training is open to anyone ages 13 and older. Registration is encouraged, but not required. To register, please visit ymcaswm.com/OverdosePrevention.
